Ultimately the Tesla Cybertruck won't be smaller, Elon Musk says

While twice Elon Musk had announced a reduction in the dimensions of the Cybertruck, the boss of Tesla has just said that this would ultimately not be the case. Another, smaller model may be produced in the future

Shortly after the official presentation of Tesla's electric pickup and its absolutely unique lines, Internet users began to wonder about the dimensions of this stainless steel monster. Better, a YouTuber had even used augmented reality to show how difficult it was to fit him into a standard American garage.

No reduction in dimensions but a "probable" future smaller model

To allay concerns, Elon Musk took to Twitter to announce that he was considering downsizing his pickup. The length and width were to be reduced slightly without affecting the interior space or the capabilities of the vehicle. Height has never been a problem as you can use the air suspension to lower the vehicle.

But after recently talking about a 3% decrease in overall dimensions and mentioning 5% in the show he filmed with Jay Leno, Elon Musk returned to those numbers in a tweet. He posted: “Reviewed the design with Franz last night. Even 3% smaller is too small. It will be almost the same size [as the prototype] ”. Franz von Holzhausen is the chief designer of Tesla. Obviously, for reasons that have not yet been given, it would be impossible to reduce the size of the Cybertruck.

With its 5.88 m long, 2.03 m wide and 1.9 m high, it offers the same size as the larger Ford F-150, the master standard of pick-ups in the United States and which has served as a basis for comparison to imagine the Cybertruck. Elon Musk said a more compact model of the pickup would “probably” be designed “in the future”.
