ALREADY 650,000 ORDERS FOR THE TESLA CYBERTRUCK?

This is what the American press thinks they know. Eight months after its presentation, the Tesla pickup would have recorded 650,000 orders.

The Cybertruck, better than the Model 3? According to Electrek, Tesla's futuristic-looking electric pickup has already recorded nearly 650,000 orders since its launch on November 22. The specialized site holds this information from the firm Wedbush Securities, which published a note to its clients on this subject on Tuesday.

Contacted by BFM Auto, Tesla does not confirm this information, referring to the last communication on the subject, made by Elon Musk himself. A week after the Cybertruck's presentation on November 27, Elon Musk tweeted the figure "250K". Or the number of Cybertrucks ordered.

Elon Musk had also orchestrated a whole communication on the orders of his pickup in the days following the presentation, with a first fleet of 150,000 orders, then a tweet announcing 200,000, before bringing up the figure of 250,000. Radio silence since.

Tesla's best-selling Cybertruck after Model 3?

In a previous note, the same firm pointed out that only 17% of orders were for the entry-level version of the Cybertruck, announced at around $ 40,000 (or around 35,000 euros). While the number of orders may foreshadow commercial success, like the Model 3 success story, the very low deposit amount to order the Cybertruck raises questions. At $ 100 per order (around $ 90), how many customers will actually complete this purchase?

They have a little time in front of them to reflect. In the United States, manufacturing of the Cybertruck will not begin until the end of 2021. European customers will likely have to wait until 2022.
