Tesla's Cybertruck has received an impressive number of pre-orders

The American giant could claim to have recorded more than 650,000 reservations for its revolutionary pickup, according to a new report.

Its success does not seem to falter. Tesla is registering an impressive number of pre-orders for its Cybertruck, although the vehicle is not yet available. Thus, since its presentation last November, 650,000 vehicles have been reserved across the world, says Electrek, citing the latest Wedbush report. An impressive figure as production of the vehicle has not yet started and it may not be available until 2022.

This figure is particularly interesting since it seems that interest in Tesla's revolutionary pickup is continuing. Indeed, all the new vehicles launched by the American giant are very successful as soon as they are unveiled, as was the case for the famous Model 3. But, generally, the enthusiasm decreases over the months after the buzz of the presentation of the vehicle. But this is not the case for the Cybertruck. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced more than 250,000 pre-orders the week following the vehicle's presentation.

Hundreds of bookings per week

If the company no longer updates its reservation tally, several other sites estimate that the number is now well over 500,000, and could reach 650,000 pickups. According to sources cited by Electrek, some Tesla stores continue to register several hundred Cybertruck reservations per week. The vehicle is available from $ 40,000 (around 35,000 euros).

Production is slated to start in late 2021. However, with a reservation deposit of $ 100, Tesla could see several buyers fail to honor their Cybertruck purchase promise even though the vehicle will not be available for many months. However, even if the

conversion rate were only 20%, Electrek explains, that would represent 130,000 pickups sold for Tesla, or a turnover of around eight billion dollars.
